Boys "Green
Mountain" Flag #A257
Prior to the revolution, troops of
young Vermont boys were organized by Ethan Allen and Seth Warner
against NY tax collectors. When the war broke out in Massachusetts,
Allen, Warner and their unruly boys captured Fort Ticonderoga from
the British on May 10, 1775. They also captured the fortifications
at Crown Point, NY. Item

Green Mountain
Boys "76"Flag
#A258
By the summer of 1776, not much was
left of the original Green Mountain Boys. The continental congress
authorized Warner to recruit a new unit under the "76"
flag. This unit was absorbed into the Continental Army and continued
to serve with distinction.
