The Bedford
Militia #A259
The Bedford militia of 1775 were
the first soldiers to respond to the cry "The British are
coming". Like most militia they provided their own uniforms and
weapons. They answered the call to arms at Concord, and were present
at North Bridge to repel the British. The motto on their flag reads
"Vince Aut Morire" (conquer of die).
