The Royal Warwickshire Regiment

They could just as easily be called the "hard luck regiment". They were deployed to the Caribbean in 1772 to quell disturbances by the local natives. Although they were successful, the climate proved to be the real enemy. Sickness greatly reduced their effectiveness. In November 1776 the Warwickshire was ordered to reinforce the garrison in New York. They saw some action but the regiment was so sickly that by February 1777 they were ordered back home.
